FutureBusiness Welcomes Social Progress Imperative As a Partner

Assessing Countries Performances Through the Work of Social Progress Imperative

FutureBusiness welcomes Social Progress Imperative as a partner. Created in 2012 and based in Washington DC, Social Progress Imperative is a global nonprofit providing decision-makers and everyday citizens with meaningful data on the social and environmental health of their societies and helping them prioritize actions that accelerate social progress.

They are best known for the Social Progress Index (SPI) which first launched in 2014. The Index thoroughly measures country performance on various aspects of social and environmental performance which are relevant for countries at all levels of economic development. It is something that has been embraced by innovative leaders across the world and has been key in the work they have done to navigate today’s social challenges and accelerate efforts to drive equitable, inclusive and thriving societies. Nutrition & basic medical care, personal safety, access to basic education, environmental quality and personal rights are just some of the things that are asked about and answered. Social Progress use the SPI to support the Sustainable Development Goals by offering a practical way for policymakers to track and report on progress in a consistent manner.

Their mission is to use the data that has been collated to influence policies and investments to better serve all of humanity. They partner with leaders in every sector –– government, business, and civil society––to meet the needs of communities and supply them with the correct information to take on pressing global challenges such as COVID-19 and climate change.

We are delighted to welcome Social Progress Imperative as a partner of FutureBusiness. We have an interview with the CEO of Social Progress Imperative, Michael Green discussing the role of sustainability and purposeful business and how companies can help create a more positive society.
